Topic: Navigating the Intersection: Challenges and Commitments in the Grounded Accountability Model and Participatory Research
Purpose: Researchers who commit to using participatory research methods face various challenges related to striking a balance between conducting thorough research and delivering timely results that can inform actionable interventions. They also grapple with challenges as they aspire to shift from measuring project-based outputs to measuring broader impact through participatory, inclusive, and accessible methods. As members of the Grounded Accountability Model Community of Practice, we recognize these challenges and invite all practitioners, researchers, and enthusiasts of both GAM and broader participatory research methods to a discussion of key challenges that we all face, as well as the key commitments that we can all make as we seek to stay accountable to the community members that we want to serve.
