Module Dilemma: I do not know how to fact-check or verify content.
Module Objective: Navigate information disorder to reduce its impact on digital communities.
It can be a difficult task to figure out what posts and what claims need to be fact-checked. This filtering and prioritization are entirely up to the group admins and moderators, who are sometimes guided and supported by the group members. A good understanding of fact-checking and knowing how to use basic verification tools can be highly useful for digital community stewards.
Through this Module the Digital Community Steward Will:
- Understand the basics of fact-checking.
- Learn key digital fact-checking tools to verify information.
- Learn flagging and reporting practices on social media platforms.
