Peacebuilders today know that technology creates new strategic opportunities as well as new challenges & conflict dynamics to respond to. However, the needs & possibilities for digital peacebuilding can be overwhelming. Should you use social media, radio, chatbots, build apps, or more? Instead, this toolkit asks you to start here: What needs or goals do you have for digital peacebuilding? What do you want to do? The Digital Peacebuilding Toolkit was developed by Search for Common Ground & Build Up.

Peacebuilding using technology is a great tool especially for communities that usually do not physically meet. I like this output in the guide: 1-1 Conversations online can bridge differences and reduce prejudice which is true, but I also worry about the change in context where people suddenly become agitated because of incidents that hit their villages or countries and the platform can become a place for hate speech. Do you suggest that the platforms and conversations become censored or at least takes time to be approved by owners to make sure it does not have hate speech or false information or shall we keep it free?
