In Yemen, where conflict, economic collapse, and social norms collide, the stories of incarcerated women remain some of the most hidden and painful. Hnan Saleh Ali Al-Bdwy, Director of the Women and Children Department at the Office of Social Affairs & Labor and President of Basma Development Foundation, has 13 years of experience in civil work. In September 2025, she shared her journey, the realities she witnessed, and the lessons that continue to shape her mission. What she revealed is not only a testimony of suffering, but a call for compassion, justice, and human dignity.
