This guidebook is a directory on the implementation of the Community Security Architecture Dialogue (CSAD) and Peace Architecture Dialogue (PAD) platforms as being key initiatives introduced under the “Plateau Will Arise’’ Phase I and II projects, funded by the European Union’s Instrument for Stability, in Plateau and Kaduna states, Nigeria from 2013-2017. While the monthly PAD, in Phase I, increased mutual understanding and collaboration on conflict issues at the state level platform, there was also a need to develop a similar level of cooperation among actors at the Local Government Area (LGA) level, particularly on securing communities. This need gave birth to the CSAD platform in 10 target LGAs in Phase II. Since then, CSAD and PAD members, that also comprise of security sectors at
the federal level, have proactively and collaboratively worked together on peace initiatives with an emphasis on peacebuilding through a human element.
This guidebook is aimed at equipping Search for Common Ground (SFCG) staff, civil society organisations (CSOs), government, security sectors, and other critical stakeholders within the peacebuilding sector with broadened perspectives and understanding of the design and implementation of these Multi-Track Diploma interventions as tools to respond to deep rooted and complex conflicts along with de-escalation and violence prevention.
