SUMMARY:
The Senior Director of Human Resources provides leadership, technical and legal expertise, practical knowledge, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to the organization around human resources function. They lead the development and implementation of value-driven policies and practices that support and enable a diverse group of staff in their efforts to bring Global Fund for Women’s mission to life. The Senior Director of HR will work closely with other organizational leaders to create long term strategies to address the needs of the organization and reinforce a culture of trust, respect, diversity, and learning in line with Global Fund for Women’s values.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide counsel to the Executive Team and other key stakeholders on all HR matters.
- Partner with the Executive Team, Brand & Culture team, and Staff Council to foster an environment of equity, diversity, inclusion and empowerment.
- Lead the development and implementation of values-driven HR policies, procedures, and practices that support and enable a global network of diverse staff in their efforts to bring Global Fund for Women’s strategy to life, including staff capacity planning, recruitment, talent management, performance management, compensation, and benefits.
- Lead systematization of holistic professional development paths and mentorship for staff
- Partner with the Equity and Engagement Lead to create progressive HR policies aligned with feminist values and internal culture.
- Serve as a resource on employee engagement and relations issues, providing advice, counsel and as a problem-solving resource for disputes and other sensitive matters.
- Lead compliance with all existing governmental and labor legal and government reporting requirements and are informed by best practices.
- Compliance Lead on non-finance Safeguarding policy implementation
- Manage outsourced IT firm to monitor, deploy, and protect digital resources across the organization.

KEY SKILLS/WAYS OF DOING
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in Human Resources Management; HR experience in global organizations a plus
- Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Track record in developing, implementing, and improving value-driven HR policies, procedures, and practices.
- Significant experience in capacity planning, assessing and analyzing training and development needs.
- Ability to design, develop and implement salary administration plans and benefit programs.
- Experience working with staff bodies.
- Track record of supporting staff to grow into future roles.
- Experience managing diversity, equity, and inclusion in non-profits, including but not limited to disability justice, racial justice, cultural sensitivity, etc.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations at federal, state and local levels; Ability to interpret and advise on the application of employment laws; Strong working knowledge of California state employment law; experience with international labor practices and hiring.
- Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems
- Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality in dealing with employee relations.
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields required, Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business or related field.
- Professional certification in HR highly desirable, SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred.
Salary Range: $140K – $175K
