Mapping of Youth-Led Efforts on the Climate-YPS nexus
The Global Coalition on Youth, Peace and Security Working Group on Climate (GCYPS WG on Climate) aims to map youth-led efforts on the climate and Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) nexus. By collecting and analysing data from diverse sources, we aim to identify youth-led initiatives, existing challenges and opportunities and showcase best practices in the field.
As the WG on Climate, we aim to promote the role young people play in the field of climate and YPS, advocate for the meaningful inclusion and engagement of young people in policy spaces and dialogues and contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the youth’s role in addressing the challenges at the intersection of peace, security, and climate change.
The mapping will provide valuable insights into the YPS and climate nexus initiatives worldwide. By highlighting best practices, sharing success stories, and identifying challenges and opportunities, the project aims to promote youth-led initiatives and build evidence on the role young people play on the climate and YPS nexus. It will contribute to a comprehensive understanding of the youth’s role in addressing the challenges at the intersection of peace, security, and climate change.
