Statically, violent acts from young people are still a problem in Tanzania, not only limited to those with poor economic conditions and strong religious and cultural ties but also to children living in urban areas. Despite significant efforts by the Government and its partners still, the progress to end child violence remains limited.
In many areas of our communities, many cases of Violence against Children have been reported. For instance, a report of 2019 by the Legal and Human Rights Center in Tanzania showed regions with common acts of violence to vulnerable children and graded highest, including; Dodoma (51%), Mbeya (45%), Coast (33%), and Dar es Salaam (19%). Hence more interventions by young people are needed to maintain peace for sustainable communities.
