This is the M&E Thursday Talk from Thursday, August 22nd, when Alasdair Stuart of BBC Media Action, led a discussion on “Conducting Research in Conflict Settings: Lessons from Iraq, Libya, and South Sudan.“
BBC Media Action uses mass media and outreach to support conflict prevention, conflict management, and peacebuilding across a range of fragile and conflict-affected settings. A key component of their approach is conducting research to understand their audiences’ lives and evaluate the impact of their projects.
Alasdair Stuart reflected on the consistent challenges of carrying out research in fragile environments, explored how BBC Media Action has overcome these, and discussed ways their research is informing project and program development.C
