Shoqi Al-Maktary; Senior Conflict Sensitivity Advisor for Search for Common Ground

Shoqi A. Maktary served as Search for Common Ground’s Yemen Country Director from 2012-2019 and then as MENA Regional Senior Conflict Sensitivity Advisor providing critical technical support to a robust portfolio of peacebuilding projects advising aid agencies and donors on conflict sensitivity programming. This includes significant outreach and knowledge-sharing activities on “Do No Harm,” conflict sensitivity, and triple nexuses, including facilitating learning and knowledge-sharing within country teams across MENA and Globally, supporting ongoing capacity-building of staff and partners.

An expert in peacebuilding and conflict sensitivity with over sixteen years of professional experience, holds a master’s degree in conflict transformation and peacebuilding, and a second master’s degree in security studies.
