Emerging Realities: How Do We Respond as Peacebuilders?

MPI is  officially accepting applications for the 21st Annual Peacebuilding Training! The MPI 2022 Annual Peacebuilding Training will be held from October 10 to 21, 2022, at Mergrande Ocean Resort, Davao City, Philippines.

This year’s theme is Emerging Realities: How Do We Respond as Peacebuilders? As a reflection of that theme, MPI 2022 will be offering two new courses, one on conflict-sensitive journalism and the other on peace advocacy.

As we return to in-person training while the world is still learning to live with COVID-19, MPI will be offering a modified two-week training rather than the usual three weeks. Despite this, we are excited to offer a variety of courses with high-quality facilitators from the Philippines, Australia, Canada, and India.

We are excited to be offering the following courses:

WEEK 1: October 10 – 14, 2022 | FOUNDATION COURSES

Introduction to Conflict Transformation (ICT) with Wendy Kroeker (Canada) and Michael Frank A. Alar (Philippines)

Introduction to Peacebuilding Theory and Practice (IPTP) with Maria Ida Giguiento (Philippines) and Miriam L. Suacito (Philippines)

Understanding Grassroots Environmental Peace (UGEP) with Vanessa Bible (Australia)

WEEK 2: October 17 – 21, 2022 | THEMATIC COURSES

Conflict-Sensitive Journalism and Content Creation: Theories and Practice (CSJ) with Daniel Fritz V. Silvallana (Philippines) and Datu Beds Kali (Philippines)

Dealing with Trauma in Times of Crisis (DTTC) with Gladston Xavier (India) and Florina Xavier (India)

Theory and Practice of Peace Advocacy (PA) with Vanessa Bible (Australia) and Gabrielle Aziza Sagaral (Philippines)
